PLN 400 Million for the Development of Energy and Heat Production from Biogas
The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) is launching a call for applications under the High-Efficiency Cogeneration from Biogas Produced from Biomass, Including Municipal Waste programme.
When and who is eligible?
The application period will run from 31 August to 30 November 2026. The programme is available to entrepreneurs whose investments will contribute to reducing the energy system’s dependence on conventional energy sources and strengthening the potential of Poland’s biogas sector.
Funding will cover the construction, expansion and modernisation of biogas installations, including facilities using municipal waste. Support will include grants of up to 40% of eligible costs and loans covering up to 100% of eligible costs.
The programme aims to increase Poland’s energy security and reduce dependence on conventional energy sources. The development of biogas is also expected to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote more efficient use of waste.
The programme’s total budget through 2030 amounts to PLN 1 billion. Its expected outcomes include the utilisation of at least 320,000 tonnes of waste annually and the production of a minimum of 40 million cubic metres of biogas per year.
