Energy storage – join us for a panel discussion during the EnergyON Summit and H2POLAND
Energy storage is entering a crucial phase of development, and a dedicated thematic track during the event will guide participants through the most important challenges and standards, showcasing the full spectrum of modern solutions – from design, through formalities and financing, to safe and effective operation.
As part of the thematic path, participants will explore the most important issues related to the implementation of energy storage – from technical standards, certification and formal and legal requirements to financial models that allow projects to be realistically balanced.
The key role of hybrid storage facilities in system stabilisation and fire safety issues in industrial installations will also be discussed. This is a comprehensive guide to modern energy storage solutions, covering everything from concept to safe and efficient operation.
Energy storage facilities in Poland – financing, regulations, and project bankability
11.00-11.50, level 1, stage 5, PCC
Presentation: BESS Certification – Advanced Energy Storage System (risk mitigation, bankability and better insurance conditions)
12.00-12.20, level 1, stage 5, PCC
Speaker: Paweł Piotrowicz, TÜV SÜD
In mature battery energy storage projects, certification is no longer just a formal requirement, but has become a key risk management tool. The presentation will show why and how a properly designed certification process has a real impact on the safety, stability and profitability of BESS investments.
Based on the Advanced Energy Storage System (AESS) concept, a systematic approach will be presented that integrates technical safety, cybersecurity and operational aspects into a single coherent model for assessing the resilience of energy storage facilities. Participants will learn how this approach allows threats to be identified early and managed effectively at every stage of the project life cycle.
The presentation will answer key questions from investors, financing institutions and insurers: how to reduce operational risk, increase project bankability and obtain more favourable financing and insurance terms. This is a practical look at certification as an element of building competitive advantage in the rapidly growing energy storage market.
The energy storage market in Poland
Presentation of the report and discussion
12.30-13.20, level 1, stage 5, PCC
Association “With Energy About Law”
The Polish energy sector has reached a turning point. With renewable energy sources (RES) accounting for 33% of electricity production in 2025, energy storage is no longer a technological curiosity, but has become a sine qua non condition for system security. The scale of the challenges is unprecedented – in 2025 alone, the volume of non-market power redispatching almost doubled, reaching 1,347 GWh.
During the panel, the association's experts will present the key conclusions from the publication “The Development of Energy Storage in Poland” and, together with invited experts, we will analyze the roadmap for the large-scale energy storage (BESS) sector in Poland. We will focus on building bridges between complex technology and clear legislation.
